Recently, Haike, an international student from Tajikistan, visited the Yangshi Lei Memorial Hall in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, immersing himself in the exquisite craftsmanship of ancient Chinese architecture. Standing before a 1:30 scale wooden model of the Hall of Supreme Harmony, he carefully observed its sophisticated structure composed of over seventy thousand mortise-and-tenon components. The fact that the model fits together seamlessly without a single nailor rivet left him in awe.
